Historic Courthouse Square

Comanche is a Texas Main Street City with third year designation as a National Main Street City.  Browse antique & specialty shops and enjoy great foods.

Old Cora

Texas’ only existing log Courthouse.  Originally built in the Comanche County town of Cora, in 1856, it was later relocated to Comanche—on the Courthouse Square—next to the historic “Fleming Oak”.

Fleming Oak

In the 1800's Martin Fleming vowed to protect this tree to his death.  The tree now stands as tribute to the former Texas Ranger and Confederate Army solider.

The 47 acre park, located at the West edge of Comanche, is a popular location for reunions, picnics and celebrations. The park features a Junior Olympic swimming pool, baseball and soccer fields, jogging track, picnic tables, playground, three pavilions, campsites with full hookups and the 1.3 mile Twin Creek Hiking Trail. Look for dinosaur tracks at the base of tables, benches & more!

Numerous Comanche history and genealogy sources are supported by a Southern States genealogy collection and Civil War materials oriented toward the Confederacy.
